There is nowhere more fitting to learn to water-ski. The bay at Juan-les-Pins is part of the sport's story, and the club teaches everyone from small children upwards.
Where it all began
The Hôtel Belles Rives tells a good story. In the 1920s, after failed attempts on Lake Annecy, an Alpine hunter managed to ski on water for the first time in the natural bay of the Cap. The Americans who flocked to the Riviera in the 1930s took to it with enthusiasm, and the sport has been part of this shore ever since.
The club
The Belles Rives Water-Skiing Club works from the hotel's private beach and its pontoon. The hotel calls it one of the most prestigious schools in the world, and it gives lessons to anyone from the age of three, so a whole family can take to the water together.

A day at the beach
Between runs, the beach does the rest: fine golden sand, a solarium, a pontoon with its own landing stage, and La Plage Belles Rives, the beach restaurant, for a Provençal summer lunch. Lifeguards are on duty from 11.30am to 6pm.
