Set sail

La Villa Port d'Antibes & Spa takes the sea as its theme. Its 56 rooms are named after boats – Goélette, Trois Mâts, Black Pearl – and the hotel sits close to the beaches, the port and the historic centre of Antibes, about 500 metres from the station. It belongs to La Villa Hotels, a family collection of seven hotels between Cannes and Nice.

The rooms

• Panoramic Black Pearl rooms on the fifth floor, with a balcony and the sea, the port and the old town as a backdrop.
• Comfort Goélette and Prestige Trois Mâts rooms, the latter with balconies; three accessible rooms are available on request.
• Prestige Triple rooms for three, with a sofa bed.
• Junior Suites of up to 52 square metres on the fifth floor, with a bath and a furnished loggia.

The spa

The spa is run with the French brand Sothys and has an exotic, tropical mood. It is open daily from 10am to 8pm, with treatment rooms, a hammam and a sensory shower, which are bookable for a fee. The heated outdoor pool on the patio is free for guests and open all year.

Other comforts

A cocktail bar serves snacks from midday to 9pm, room service runs until 9pm, and there is a laundry service. Parking is at the Q-Park Pré aux Pêcheurs, 200 metres away, with limited spaces to reserve in advance.

The hotel's own list of favourites includes the morning Provençal market under the covered hall, a picnic at the little port of the Olivette and a walk along the ramparts for the view of Nice and the Mercantour.
