Au Comptoir des Sables is the restaurant of the AC Hotel Ambassadeur Antibes – Juan les Pins, on the Chemin des Sables. It is a few metres from the Pinède Gould, the pine wood that hosts the jazz festival, and from the fine sand beaches along the seafront, which makes it an easy choice before or after a day by the water.

The kitchen

Chef Alexis Jugier cooks Mediterranean food with a light, modern touch, built on fresh and seasonal ingredients and served in a setting that is chic without being stiff. The regional tourist board picked out, among his dishes, a salmon tartare with mango coulis and a hint of avocado, a marinated beef tataki with crisp baby vegetables and condiments, and a coconut and white chocolate mousse with an exotic-fruit centre. The menu changes with the seasons, so expect variations on these.
