Every morning except Monday, the professional fishermen of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins sell their catch at the little Port du Croûton, a few minutes' walk from Port Gallice.

A working port
Port du Croûton is the small harbour at the western entrance to Cap d'Antibes, between Port Gallice and the Beach Hotel. It is modest in size, and that is its charm: this is where the local professional fishermen bring their boats in and sell directly to anyone who turns up.
What you will find
The selection depends entirely on the sea. Port Gallice, which promotes the sale to its own visitors, describes a wide choice of seasonal produce that changes with the day's catch. There is no fixed list and no guarantee – which is exactly the point. What is on the table is what came out of the water that morning.
A port that looks after its waters
Next door, Port Gallice has installed Biohut nurseries along its quays – small refuges where young fish can shelter and feed in the first stages of life – as part of a wider effort to encourage marine biodiversity in the harbour. It is a pleasing thought when buying fish a few steps away.
