The setting
The Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc has been part of the Cap's legend for some 150 years – the retreat that drew Picasso, Chagall and Scott Fitzgerald, and later the stars of the Cannes festival. The Grill sits in its lively centre, on a grand outdoor terrace above the saltwater pool, with the sea beyond and the sun setting straight ahead.
The look
The designer Patricia Anastassiadis dressed it in nautical blues and reds, a nod to classic Riviera style, and linked the dining areas to the pool and the sea so the whole place feels breezy.
The menu
Executive chef Sébastien Broda oversees one menu for lunch and dinner in the spirit of a modern brasserie:
- a fish bar of ceviche, carpaccio, tartare and marinated catch of the day
- a salad bar from niçoise to king crab
- mains such as cod with Provençal aïoli, Irish Angus entrecôte, vitello tonnato and grilled lobster
- a sushi counter on the terrace at lunch and dinner
